Materials Cloud Policies v1.1, November 2018

  • Scope: Computational materials science. Content must not violate privacy or copyright.
  • Eligible depositors: The Materials Cloud ARCHIVE is open to the computational materials science community at large. The Materials Cloud LEARN, WORK, DISCOVER and EXPLORE sections are limited to work involving at least one author affiliated with the partnering scientific consortia (while the submission processes are being streamlined).
  • Ownership: Uploading content to Materials Cloud does not affect ownership of the content. In particular, no property rights are transferred to Materials Cloud.
  • Licenses: Users must select licenses for their publicly available contributions. While open licenses, such as Creative Commons, are preferred, users are free to choose from the SPDX license list. Details may vary between the sections of Materials Cloud.
  • Language: Please use English for any textual items.
  • Infrastructure: Materials Cloud is hosted (and all data is stored) at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in Lugano, Switzerland.
  • Availability: The Materials Cloud team and CSCS do their best to ensure constant availability. We do not sign service-level agreements.
  • Personal Data Protection: See the Materials Cloud Privacy Policy.
  • Terms of Use: Material contributed to or downloaded from the Materials Cloud is subject to the Materials Cloud Terms of Use. See in particular Sections 3.4 and 4. on User Responsibilities and Liabilities.
